About Project Blackhole
Project Blackhole exists to empower Aussies to live with Dignity, Respect and informed personal choices. So many Aussies are being left without adequate healthcare, especially in rural and remote communities. Care can be hard to access, confusing to navigate and sometimes non-existent. We are here to change that.
Built from lived experience — designed to make gaps visible and support practical action.
Our Story
Project Blackhole was born from a strong distaste for the current state of aged care and disability funding in Australia. NDIS, My Aged Care (MAC), and other government-funded programs were created to support a strained public health system and reduce pressure on unpaid carers and burnt-out family members. This funding should empower people to live with dignity, respect, and a real voice.
As we travelled across communities around Australia, it became clear these issues were not isolated to one state or territory. We kept hearing the same story in different places: someone was struggling, services were unavailable, or a single provider dominated the area and could work the system to its advantage.
Most often, we saw good people trying to support their communities while being dragged through bureaucracy and pushed around by organisations driven by profit margins, not client care. It took time, planning, and collaboration with like-minded people to work out how we could find and help those being left behind.
That work became Project Blackhole. We are passionate about real support. We are passionate about advocacy and equal healthcare. Most importantly, we are passionate about people.

A black hole is a place where things disappear. Across Australia, people are disappearing into Blackholes in the homecare system.
